PROTRI (Propiconazole 10.7% + Tricyclazole 34.2% SE)
- Broad-spectrum disease control
- Dual mode of action
- It can be used preventively or curatively, providing flexibility in disease management.
- It offers synergistic control and helps prevent the development of resistance in fungus populations.
Description
The combination of Propiconazole 10.7% + Tricyclazole 34.2% SE provides a synergistic effect, offering dual protection against fungal diseases. It targets both preventive and curative control of a broad spectrum of fungal pathogens. It effectively controls various fungal diseases such as blast, sheath blight, leaf spot, and rust, among others. It can be used in crops like rice, wheat, barley, and other susceptible plants.
Mode of Action
Propiconazole, a triazole fungicide, acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergo sterol, a crucial component of fungal cell membranes. It blocks the activity of the enzyme Lanosterol 14α-demethylase, which is responsible for converting lanosterol into ergosterol. This disruption of ergosterol synthesis leads to the accumulation of toxic sterols in the fungal cell membrane, causing membrane dysfunction, leakage of cellular contents, and ultimately the death of the fungus. Tricyclazole, a protective systemic fungicide, works by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme tricyclazole reductase. This enzyme is involved in the metabolism of tricyclazole within the fungal cells. By blocking this enzyme, tricyclazole disrupts key metabolic processes in the fungi, impairing their growth, reproduction, and overall survival.
