Ferrous EDTA Chelated
Description
Ferrous EDTA chelated is a yellow, fine powder that dissolves quickly in water. It's used as a fertilizer to prevent iron deficiencies in crops.
Mode of Action
Iron-chelating agent with affinity for ferric ion; binds to ferric ion and forms a complex that is excreted in the urine. Has a lower affinity for other metals such as copper, aluminum, and zinc. Therapeutic Effect: Promotes urinary excretion of iron.
Applications
Foliar spray Dissolve 1–2 grams in 1.5–2 liters of water and spray over the plant. Increase the dose based on the severity of the iron deficiency. Soil application Mix 500 grams of ferrous EDTA with 10 kilograms of soil and apply uniformly over one acre. Increase the dose based on the severity of the iron deficiency.
